I'm Back!

Good evening Dallas, Texas! Boy is it good to be back. I had a lot of fun with my family, but I remembered why I despise car trips. We almost made it through the entire trip without a mom versus dad screeming match in the car. It happened on the way home when we tried to get on 35 North. Let's just say that I will never force my children into a car trip. Flying is the way to go!

Sea World was a day of fun in the hot, hot sun! Did you know that it is not only the home of Shamu, but it houses a couple of awesome rollercoasters and a full waterpark. We all wore our swimsuits and we all went to Sea World dry and we all left Sea World soaking wet from top to bottom. It was a blast and I got some more sun.

The Shamu show was what I expected, but it was only 15 minutes long. I guess when you are the star of the theme park then you can afford to have a 15 minute show. I really wanted to see the beluga whales, also known as the canaries of the sea, and they were in the diving show. I absolutely love them! I really wanted a picture with them, but I thought the only whale that posed for photographs was Shamu. I was wrong! I found out later that they stopped beluga pictures after the show before the one I saw. Woe is me. I had to settle for a beluga whale t-shirt and beach towel.

Downtown San Antonio also contains El Mercado. It was the nicest Mexican flea market set up I have ever seen. Next to it was Mi Terra a super delicious restaurant with the BEST queso I have tasted in my 24 years of life. Give me a spoon, a bowl of the queso, and look out!

All in all it was a decent family trip. I definitely feel that three days was plenty. I was getting tired of sleeping with ear plugs. (Yes I said 'ear plugs.' You sleep in the same room as my parents and then tell me their snoring doesn't create a need for ear protection.) I know Katelyn, my sister, was beyond her family time limit. I just hope she realizes what family really can mean some day. I guess I just worry too much about my parents, but most would if their mother turned to them with tears in her eyes and said, "I would be lost without you." I know I would be lost if anything happened to her. Of course I feel the same about my dad:).

No movies again, although I saw a very riveting episode of Between the Lions this morning on PBS.
