The Perfect Man Huh?

Well it's summer time and, as a high school educator, I am taking full advantage of my summer off. Today I found myself at the movie theater watching The Perfect Man. As a romantic comedy addict, I fell in love with this movie. I spared my fiance the pain and did not take him, but he did observe, from the previews, that he could not understand why any man would dump Heather Locklear. I found it more upsetting that Heather Locklear has gone from the devastatingly gorgeous young woman to the desperate, aging mother. Where is the justice in a world that will still cast Sean Connery with women half his age, but poor ole Heather has to play a woman intent on dating whatever crossed her path?

The movie itself was the "cookie cutter" formula of all chick flicks. My favorite part was Hilary Duff. Yes I admit it, I have to back my fellow Texan, I am a minor Hilary fan. Maybe it is because I teach teens and it amuses me to see who their role models are, for the girls anyway, and why they admire them. Not to mention that any force in this universe that can balance out the evil that is Lindsay Lohan is more than welcome to me. That's right, I admit that I despise Lohan openly as well.

As for Duff's leading man, the character "Adam" was the cutie-patootie that is expected in a film of this caliber. The thing that drove me nuts the entire film was trying to decide who he reminded me of or if I had seen him in anything before. I am one of those that can go nutty when I am trying to place actors in other movies.

It is nice to find a movie every now and then that doesn't require a lot of emotion or thinking. I left feeling good about life and very satisfied with that "happy ending" atmosphere.

I would definitely give The Perfect Man 3 out of 5 Hearts.
